Hamworthy volunteer team on Bournemouth seafront as the newly relaunched company continues its commitment to the local community and marine environment.
19 June 2026, Poole, UK: Today, 29 employees from Poole-based marine water and waste specialist Hamworthy joined the Marine Conservation Society for a beach clean-up on Bournemouth seafront, helping remove litter from the coastline and support efforts to protect the local marine environment.
The volunteer event brought together colleagues from across the business, including CEO Fraser Scott, to support the Marine Conservation Society's work to tackle marine litter and protect the UK's coastlines and seas.
The initiative comes at a significant moment for Hamworthy, which recently relaunched as an independent company under a name that has been part of Poole's engineering heritage since 1914.
Today, the business provides water and waste management systems for ships operating around the world, helping to prevent pollution from reaching the marine environment. For employees, the beach clean-up provided an opportunity to support locally the same goal the company pursues globally every day.
Fraser Scott, CEO of Hamworthy, said:
"Taking part in the beach clean-up was a meaningful way for our team to support the local environment and spend time together outside the workplace.
"As a business dedicated to helping ships manage water and waste responsibly, protecting the marine environment is central to what we do. It was fantastic to see so many colleagues volunteering to support the Marine Conservation Society and help care for the beautiful coastline we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.
Roberta Dina, Hamworthy’s Marketing Manager and organiser of the beach clean-up added:
"Hamworthy has a long history in Poole and we're proud to be building the next chapter of that story here. Our people care deeply about the marine environment and about the local area, so this was a great opportunity to bring those two things together."
Following its transition to an independent business at the start of June, Hamworthy continues to design and deliver water and waste management solutions for the global maritime industry from its Poole town centre HQ, serving customers around the world while maintaining strong roots in the local community.
